In general there is a lack of information on the needs of local businesses and barriers to business development. Understanding the needs of local businesses is highlighted as a key area covered in Local Economic Assessments, which became a statutory duty from April 2010. In order to meet this need a survey of businesses and employers was undertaken between April and June 2010. The results were used in the Local Economic Assessment for Herefordshire and helped improve the way we deliver business specific services, shape local policy and feed into regional policy. The overarching aim of this work was to be able to better support local businesses and employers to achieve sustainable economic growth.
A copy of the report from the survey is available below along with the questionnaire.
