Your Community Your Say

Your Community Your Say consultation

This consultation was undertaken as a consequence of the council's requirement to make significant savings to its current and future budgets. The first stage of community engagement took place in spring 2012 with the Herefordshire Quality of Life survey, which was posted to 4,125 homes. This is a survey we have undertaken in the past to find out what people think about local services and what they think needs to be improved.

The second stage of our community engagement ran in September and October 2012 with a series of Your community - Your Say (YCYS) events across Herefordshire's nine localities. The informal interactive events provided local residents with the opportunity to share their views about their local area while helping to inform the decisions which will be made about the public services provided on their behalf.  Alongside the Your Community Your Say events, we also enlisted the assistance of local organisations to help us engage with hard to reach and seldom heard groups, disabled residents and the county's young people. We also ran an online forum and Twitter and Facebook pages.

Events took place in Bromyard, Clehonger, Dorstone, Ewyas Harold, Fownhope, Hereford, Kington, Ledbury, Leintwardine, Leominster, Ross-on-Wye, Shobdon and Weobley and you can download and read the findings from the documents on this page.

We also ran three additional sessions with groups who may not normally have their views heard or participate in council consultations. These sessions were run with Herefordshire Carers Support, Herefordshire Disability United and Herefordshire International School and you can download and read the reports from these events in the documents on this page.
